Documentary Payment Support Stratech-DPS

A letter of Credit (L/C) or documentary collection is often used to ensure payment on delivery of products and/or services to new relationships or specific destinations. This secure method of payment has a significant downside, because very strict conditions have to be followed for the documents to be created. Stratech-DPS (Documentary Payment Support) is an advanced software application that offers a helping hand.

With Stratech-DPS the required documents are created in accordance with L/C or documentary collection. To ensure that the software fits the practice, Stratech has cooperated with specialists in the field of documentary payments such as businesses, industry associations and banks (including Fortis, ABN AMRO and Van Lanschot Bankiers).

Increasingly, the L/C is provided electronically on the basis of standardised SWIFT messages. In the Netherlands, the above banks are already able to provide the SWIFT message to businesses. An automated solution for reading this message was still lacking, but with Stratech-DPS this is now possible.
The software also allows for the implementation of various checks and warnings (e.g. when approaching the expiry date of the L/C). Also, a completeness check is performed on mandatory fields. This dramatically reduces the number of reservations by the bank.

Even if your bank is not yet offering the SWIFT message as such, Stratech-DPS offers the solution. You enter the L/C data once only. This is sufficient for the further preparation and completion of all other documents. Repetitive data do not have to be re-entered in each separate document. Double data entry is a thing of the past.

For companies that are already using Stratech-SPS and consignments on the basis of L/C’s or documentary collection services, it is also possible to create the financial documents with Stratech-DPS. Stratech-SPS can be easily expanded with the SWIFT interface of Stratech-DPS.

ERP Interface

Using the download interface, you can link Stratech-DPS to your main ERP system. The interface can download imported data relating to orders, administration, finance and logistics to create your documents in Stratech-DPS.
